The names of the demonstrators are followed by an N or A, showing whether they are National or Area Demonstrators.  Area Demonstrators names are annotated with the year they passed the test.

Linda lives in Hove and is proud to be an Area demonstrator. Her interests other than flowers are painting, gardening, pottery, clay shooting and fly fishing. Her aim as a demonstrator is simply to inspire and continue in this pursuit for as long as possible as she is now cancer free. She aims to give members an entertaining, informative, relaxed demonstration.

Barbara is a National Teacher, Area Demonstrator and Member of New Visions. After training florists and teaching floral leisure courses for the last 25 years, Barbara is keen to continue enjoying flowers with like-minded folk.
Other interests are gardening, dog walking, church flowers, spending time with family including flying in light aircraft (as a passenger!) and more recently learning machine embroidery.

Dr. Christina Curtis is a member of Warnham Evening Flower Club. She is a qualified National Demonstrator (2002) and Adjudicator for Demonstrators' Tests. She served 3 years on the National Demonstrators Committee. Christina demonstrated at the NAFAS AGM in Plymouth in 2010. Her titles are varied and she loves all styles of floral art. Her work incorporates all sorts of materials and Contemporary techniques including manipulation. Christina enjoys running and attending floral art workshops, collecting interesting plants, gardening, botanical research and crafts.

Sue has been a demonstrator for a number of years at Area and National level. This has been very enjoyable but with the continuing nightmare of the road network coupled with a recent move further away from main motorways her plan is to stay more local for demonstrating and is happy to demonistrate to smaller clubs.

Jilly’s dems are fast flowing and fun, with titles like Off the Wall and Whatever Next! Contemporary designs dominate with not a triangle in sight. Yet, if you’d like triangles, you only have to ask. Jilly’s been demonstrating in front of a live audience for over a decade and she’s happy to run virtual dems too.

Gill studied floristry in the late 1980s at Chichester College and then a further 3 years at Brinsbury College at Pulborough, gaining her City and Guilds in Flower Arrangement. She started demonstrating to non-NAFAS affiliated clubs from the early 1980s. She has had her own floristry business since 2004 and qualified as a NAFAS Area demonstrator in 2011. She has gained medals at the Chelsea Flower Show and has been placed at the Nationals and Area shows.

Steven enjoys competition work and has been successful at many shows including the Chelsea Flower Show, winning many gold medals and twice Best in Show. He has twice represented the Sussex Area at the Designer of the Year competition.
His demonstrations have him taken to many destinations including, USA, Spain, Barbados and Ireland.

After leaving her flying years with BOAC(!!), Jan retrained as a florist and opened a studio specialising in weddings and organising wedding fairs for 20 years. On retirement, she missed working with flowers, so joined East Preston flower club in 2015 and consequently trained as an Area Demonstrator. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, painting, her 2 lovely dogs and working for the charity Canine Partners.

In the late seventies, Angela and Steve moved to Sussex and shortly after a friend said. “How do you fancy coming to Flower Club with me?” The rest is history and Angela became more and more involved in the art of floral design. She has since become a National Teacher, Area Judge and Area Demonstrator.

Nina is an Area Demonstrator as well as a NAFAS Tutor and she also teaches at Adult Education colleges as well as running workshops at other venues throughout Sussex.

Nina has been a freelance writer since the 1990s, the last nine with various floral magazines, including the much missed Belgian Fleur Creatif. Nina was very excited to become the new Editor of Flora magazine in September 2023 and is continuing to bring floral news, trends and tutorials to a worldwide audience.

Her hobbies include photography, gardening and looking after five adorable grandchildren.
