Advantages of Affiliating to NAFAS

At a National level:

  • Training and moderation of adjudicators, national demonstrators, national judges, national speakers and teachers
  • Write and publish the NAFAS Qualifications in Floral Design in association with OCN
  • Co-ordinating photography interests
  • National Show for competitors and visitors
  • Visit and tour of Osborne House (Grade II listed building with unique features)
  • Use of the library at Osborne House
  • Access to National Events, including Residential Weekends and Refresher Courses.
  • Affiliation to WAFA and RHS (allowing our members to compete at their shows)
  • Opportunity to arrange flowers at Westminster Abbey
  • Reduced rate subscription to the Flower Arranger magazine through your club, with the NAFAS news supplement


At Sussex Area level:

  • Eligibility to compete at Area Shows
  • Access to Members’ Days with national and local speakers and first-class demonstrators
  • Access to monthly Area Workshops
  • Subsidised training for demonstrators, judges and speakers as well as beginners’ classes and certificated NAFAS qualifications
  • Club Officers’ Day
  • Club Chairmen’s Forums
  • Club delegate at Council meetings – have your say regarding the Sussex Area
  • Members can attend Council meetings
  • Participation in Area Flower Festivals
  • When booking demonstrators:
    • Blue Form protection
    • Non-affiliated clubs may pay significantly more for demonstrators
  • Eligibility for Area bursaries (e.g. 2019 encouraging new members bursary)
  • Access to the new Mentorship Programme
  • Direct relatives of Sussex members can attend the Junior Play Days
  • Access to Photography workshops
  • Clubs may choose to be included in the Area-wide insurance policy
