Jenny is a member of East Preston Flower Club and Felpham Horticultural Society. She is a very keen gardener. Judging other peoples exhibits is a pleasure, also a helpful Comment Card to encourage non Prize Winners works wonders.

Dr Christina D Curtis (N)

Dr. Christina Curtis is a member of Warnham Evening Flower Club. She is a National Judge who qualified in 2009. She has assessed floral art exhibits at National, Area, Regional and Club level as well as at horticultural and WI shows. She is a keen competitor herself and has won many awards including Best In Show at the National Competition in Southport in 2012. She is now training to be an Adjudicator for NAFAS Judges' Tests.

When she received a 3rd Prize for an exhibit that was the only design in the class (a style of judging no longer practised thankfully), Jilly realised the importance of kind, friendly and constructive comments which she strives to give, whether verbally or written. Jilly likes to compete when she doesn’t have another hat on. .

Maggie Hayes (A2019)

Maggie is a Sussex Area Demonstrator and Judge, a member of New Visions and Horam & Heathfield flower clubs. She enjoys gardening, beekeeping, walking and training her dogs.

Barbara Hoy (A2019)

Barbara is an Area teacher and Area judge. She is a member of Lindfield flower club as well as New Visions and enjoys being part of the 'flower team'. She enjoys spending time with her family and working in her garden.

Ann Kennedy (A2019)

Ann started her floral challenges when she lived in New Zealand 20 years ago as the plant material there is so inspirational. Hence her contemporary approach to Floral design. She loves competing up to World Show level and has enjoyed successes at many levels.

Having recently qualified as an Area Judge [2019] she looks forward to being invited to judge and constructively help others venturing into competitions as this is such a great way to learn.

She belongs to several clubs and has designed and participated in many exhibitions and Festivals and enjoys meeting people and sharing her ideas.
She loves her garden and has achieved RHS Gold medals in Garden design as well as Floral Art.

Stephanie Laing (A1995)

Steffie is a member of East Grinstead Flower Club and the City of Ely Flower Club in the East of England Area. As well as being an Area judge, she is also an Area Demonstrator and teacher. She always feels it is a great privilege and pleasure to be asked to judge a competition, as she appreciates the time and effort a competitor has spent on their exhibits. She has entered many competitions at all levels over the years and won numerous awards. It gives her great pleasure that through demonstrating and teaching, she can encourage others to join in and ‘have a go’. Floral Art and Design is her passion and she feels extremely lucky to have her own studio to work and teach in. She enjoys all forms of art and craft, reading and gardening.

Angela Merryfield (A1997)

In the late seventies, Angela and Steve moved to Sussex and shortly after a friend said. “How do you fancy coming to Flower Club with me?” The rest is history and Angela became more and more involved in the art of floral design. She has since become a National Teacher, Area Judge and Area Demonstrator.

Steve Merryfield (A1997)

In 1994 Steve was part of the Staging Team for the National Show at Brighton (Far Pavilions). It was hard work but great fun and he picked up the flower arranging bug. Two years later he entered his first National Competition at Nottingham and was awarded a Commended! His enthusiasm developed and in 1997 he became an Area Judge. He served as a NAFAS photographic rep for a while and now his main involvement is photographing flower arrangements and designs in the UK and abroad.

Linda Porrett (A2019)

Linda is a member of New Visions Contemporary Club as well as East Preston flower club. She is a keen competitor having joined NAFAS over 30 years ago and recently represented NAFAS at WAFA in India. She also enjoys gardening and seeking out inspirational places.

Duncan Ward (A2019)

Duncan is an Area Judge, member of Seaford Evening Flower Club, New Visions, and Horley Flower Club in Surrey. Apart from working in property management, he is a keen gardener, church flower arranger and cat lover.
