Bookings When making arrangements by telephone or letter to engage a Demonstrator, Judge, Speaker or Tutor, it is essential to discuss fully the details of the fee, flower allowance, expenses, travel etc. If acceptable, confirm by sending the NAFAS blue booking form which gives these details with the date, time and place of the meeting, together with telephone numbers and addresses of two committee members. Blue Forms are available from the Area Publications Administrator.
Three weeks before the date of the meeting a reminder should be sent, together with instructions for finding the venue, its postcode and telephone number and a contact number in case of last-minute emergency.
Demonstrators, Judges, Speakers and Tutors are reminded of their obligation to fulfil engagements as agreed on the Blue Form. If cancellation is unavoidable, they are expected to offer the Club a substitute of equal standard, after consultation with the Club. In the case of sudden illness, the Club will be responsible for finding a substitute.
Non-Affiliated clubs can expect to pay significantly more for demonstrators as these clubs haven’t contributed to the training and development of demonstrators.
Definition of an Open Meeting: An Open Meeting which is advertised, and tickets are sold on the open market.
