Class 1. Staggered Spheres
(8 entries)
Space allowed: Width 76 cm, depth 76 cm, height optional.
To be staged on tabling 76 cm from the floor, draped with black fabric, against a pale sage green wall. To be viewed and judged from the front.

Class 2. Pure and Simple

Open staging on tables 76 cm from the floor, draped with black fabric.
To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Class 3. Pushing the Boundaries
Open to anyone who has received an award at a NAFAS National Show.

To be staged on tabling 76cm from the floor, draped with black fabric against a black fabric background. To be viewed and judged from the front.

Class 4. A Bit of This and That (IMPOSED CLASS)

Space allowed: Width 76 cm, depth 76 cm, height optional.
To be staged on tabling 76 cm from the floor, draped with black fabric, cream background. To be viewed and judged from the front.
The entry fee for this class is £20 where all components will be provided and will become the property of the competitor.
Some or all of every component provided must be used and nothing extra may be added.
A basic toolbox only is permitted, and no extra decorative items are allowed.

Class 5. Fruity Little Number (Petite – Small Scale Design)

To be staged on open tabling 76 cm from the floor, draped with black fabric.
To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Class 6. Bold and Beautiful (novice)
Open to anyone who has not previously received an award at a NAFAS Area or National Show.

To be staged in front of windows on open tabling 76 cm from the floor, draped with black fabric. To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Competition Regulations & Information
- Only members of clubs and societies affiliated to the Sussex Area of NAFAS may compete.
- All exhibits will be judged in accordance with the NAFAS Competitions Manual Fourth Edition 2023.
- All exhibits must be staged in the space allocated and must be the Competitor’s own work and not previously exhibited.
- All staging measurements in the schedule are approximate. The spaces allowed are to be strictly adhered to.
- All exhibits and personal property are at the risk of the Competitor. Neither the Area nor the owners of the venue will be liable for any loss or damage.
- The number of spaces in classes is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
- Entries for all classes must be made on the official entry form and returned to the Competitions Secretary with a stamped addressed envelope by
31 March 2025. A returnable deposit of £5 payable to the Sussex Area of NAFAS must be sent for each entry in classes 1,2,3,5 and 6. Entry fee for imposed class 4 is £20 (non-returnable).
- All exhibits must be assembled at the venue.
- Pre-done work consisting of any techniques requiring a considerable amount of time to complete are acceptable in any class.
- Staging
Friday 9 May from 10 am to 3.00 pm. All competitors must vacate the building by 3.15 pm
Staging for Imposed Class 4 will take place from 11am to 3 pm
- Judging
Friday 9 May commencing 3.30pm.
- Dismantling is permitted on Saturday 10 May, 5 pm to 8 pm
- AWARDS
Each class will be awarded 1st, 2nd,3rd, Very Highly Commended, Highly Commended and Commended.
Prizes – 1st – £30, 2nd – £20, 3rd – £10
The following awards will be made:
Best in Show – West Wittering Cup
Runner up to Best in Show – José Allen Trophy
Best Use of Colour – Sussex Area Perpetual Challenge Cup
Best Use of Plant Material – Nancy Boobbyer Trophy
Most Innovative Exhibit – Jean Gordon Salver
Best Newcomer – Alethea Chivers Cup and Flower Arranger Award
